This two-hour course will look at two different software tools. The presentation will familiarize attendees with the unique characteristics of BlueBeam Revu and the practical application for the review of drawings as a part of providing accessibility consulting services. The course will also explore the features of Autodesk Construction Cloud’s (ACC) software called Build and its potential for recording site observations and issuing field reports.

Joshua Kuphal

In 2017, Joshua Kuphal became an integral part of theACCESSpartnership, l.p., assuming a pivotal role in delivering consulting services. His primary focus lies in overseeing new multi-family housing construction projects, ensuring adherence to the Fair Housing Act, the 1986 ANSI standards for common use areas, and the 2010 Standards for Accessible Design in public accommodation spaces. This comprehensive approach involves aligning the aforementioned regulations with that of the local jurisdiction's accessibility codes. Joshua’s expertise benefits architects, contractors, building owners, and institutions associated with theACCESSpartnership, l.p.. Joshua boasts over 10 years of experience in the construction field specializing in working with federal regulations.

 

Joshua possesses substantial experience, having conducted over 150 construction drawing reviews and having performed over 400 on-site inspections. These inspections encompass various scenarios, including reviews during construction, assessments for property buyers, and evaluations conducted for legal proceedings on behalf of legal counsel.

Leah Schoelles
Senior Associate Accessibility Specialist at Marx|Okubo Associates, Inc.

 

Leah is an Accessibility Specialist working with REIT's, property owners, lenders, architects, and Title II government and education entities on a variety of property types including office, retail, multifamily, and community college facilities. She is a licensed Architect in the State of California, Certified Access Specialist, and ICC Certified Inspector/Plans Examiner who graduated from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona with a Bachelor of Architecture. She is currently in pursuit of the APAC-BE and ADAC. In school, she focused her energies on the treatment of historic architectural resources. Following college, working with small businesses to design and permit their tenant improvements first introduced her to the challenges that are faced when complying with accessibility codes and regulations. Through this experience, she became more curious about what the requirements are, who they are for, and how accessibility consultants can work to build a better world.


APA is a group of professionals dedicated to accessibility in all aspects of the physical experience for persons with disabilities. Thus, APA offers related education on a regular basis throughout the year, which is open to APA members as well as the public.

APA posts CE/LU credits on approved classes directly to APAC and AIA. Classes noted as self-reporting must be reported by the individual attending the course. TDLR, ICC, and ACTCP courses are self-reporting.

 

Participants meet the CE/LU requirements of numerous organizations by attending APA Training. APA is an approved CE/LU provider for AIA/CES Provider (#G583), ICC Preferred Provider (#1321), and Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR, #PVD312). APA also provides preverified ACTCP credits on noted courses and has previously awarded an APA-ADA Specialist Designation, an APA-ADA Assembly Area Designation, and an Accessibility Standards completion certificate. APA partners with APAC (Accessibility Professionals Association Certification Program) to provide CE credits. Members/guests can meet the CE/LU requirements of numerous organizations, including the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, by attending APA Training and verifying with organizations when a course has been registered.
