Biography
APA Charter Member.
Jack is a Registered Architect in multiple states. He received his BA from Baylor University and his B Arch with Honors from The University of Texas at Austin.
Jack established JDM Associates – Architects/Planners in 1975 and has practiced under that name as a sole proprietor since that time.
He established AE Support Group in 1987, providing a range of services to the Architectural and Engineering Communities, including accessibility consulting. AE Support has performed thousands of plan reviews and inspections since 1993.
He has served as an expert witness in accessibility litigation as well as architectural contract disputes.
Jack was one of the first contract providers to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to do both plan reviews and inspections. He was one of the first fifty to enter the Texas Registered Accessibility Specialist (RAS) program.
As one of the charter members of what is now the Accessibility Professionals Association (APA), he served as President of the organization in 2018. Since 2015, he has guided the development of all of the APA/ADA Specialist Examinations geared toward offering a National Certification for Accessibility Professionals. He has taught various ADA related programs in APA seminars, as well as having developed and taught specialized ADA courses for nationwide corporate clients. His current interest is as Chair of the Chapter Expansion Taskforce, as APA expands it's national presence.
