8:30-10:30 am Standards for Accessible Design, 2012 Texas Accessibility Standards and the 2003 International Building Code Requirements for Accessible Means of Egress.  Speaker: Jeromy Murphy, RAS and Chair, Education and Events Committee.

Course Summary:  We will study Accessible Means of Egress as required by the 2012 TAS and 2010 ADA Standards.  A brief overview of the 2003 IBC Means of Egress will be provided as necessary to understand the requirements of Accessible Means of Egress.

Course Summary: We will discuss key new accessibility requirements in the 2012 TAS and the 2010 ADA Standards and regulations related to large assembly facilities including design, construction, maintenance, operation and communications requirements.  We will examine typical accessibility problems along with common options for solving them.

Course Summary: We will learn how to conduct a TAS Inspection, including how to prepare for the inspection, required tools, review process andthe mechanics of field measurements.
